Today I had a great lunch with Pappie by the coast, and then we sat down for an hour long interview where he shared some stories of his time in Africa.
Once upon a time I felt that who I am today was completely self-made, that I had independently stumbled into the life I lead. Over time I've realized what a huge impact family played into making me who I am. I'm happy that I was able to capture some memories of Pappie's younger years -- proof that the spirit of adventure has lived in my family since long before my time.
